Martin Hare
Martin was born in North Belfast in 1965. He studied Architecture at Queen’s University Belfast from 1983 to 1989 gaining an BSc Hons Degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Architectural Studies. He joined McAdam Design in 1989 and was promoted to Associate in 1995 having successfully completed an MSc in Project & Construction Management at Ulster University. He was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2000 and has since led the Education Studio whilst also actively promoting ‘Green Issues’ within the practice. Martin has held several significant posts in Architecture & Construction within Northern Ireland such as
- Chairman of the Association of Project Management (N. Ireland Branch)
- President of the Royal Society of Ulster Architects
- Chairman of the CIC Professional Colleges (N. Ireland Branch)
Martin has been responsible for the design & delivery of serval large awarding winning school projects including multi-school campus masterplans. He was also a contributor to the revised Department of Education Design Handbook for both Primary and Secondary Schools and in 2013 and co-authored the Departments supplementary guidance document on how to achieve cost effective BREEAM solution within School Building.
Martins’ education portfolio extends to Higher Level Colleges and University Buildings which has influenced his approach to school design and flexible learning environments
