For 21 years, the EA AmmA Centre has been a constant presence in Northern Ireland, funded by the Department for Communities, supporting schools in integrating technology and creativity into teaching and learning. In this session, Daniel O’Reilly, Director of AmmA and Apple Distinguished Educator, explores outdoor learning through four connected perspectives — technology, nature, creativity, and the built environment. Drawing on AmmA’s extensive experience in teacher training and school-based collaborative workshops, he will showcase practical approaches to taking learning beyond the classroom, linking activities directly to and across the curriculum.
The session will highlight examples of creative workshops that embrace the outdoors and demonstrate how digital tools such as Minecraft Education can be used to reimagine and rebuild aspects of the built environment, inspiring pupils to see their world differently. -
